How does Micromining shape the technology for the future and what does that future look like?

 

Micromining is about the very small. It is about opening up our devices and learning what is inside them through experience, discovering pathways and reconnecting to the places that made these technologies possible.

 

Technology has been about making demands on the Earth and eachother. But now we need to appreciate the gifts from the Earth that have been taken by force and violence.

 

This work on Micromining is to make the micro visible, both in our devices and in the environment all around us. We don’t actually know what is there until we go exploring and experience the micro for ourselves.

 

The realisation of the game began at Mindtrek 2020 during Christina Lassheikki and Solip Park’s game workshop along with Elina and Lauri. It is just one small step to learn more about the micro terrains around us and get a little closer to sharing, making and reusing our devices.
